Who does not know about Google or Gmail?? Who does not have an account with Gmail?? I am sure everyone is well aware and definitely owns at least one account on Gmail. Isn't it? So any surprises or shocks that come your way by google make you happy and sad respectively.
Oh! No... Don't worry because this time happy news is following your gateway. Can you guess what it could be?? Yes, Google is coming up with an increment in your convenience. Google might allow making of phone calls from Gmail. Doesn't it sound damn exciting??
As we all know that Gmail serves as a control panel and an always-open tab, for the loyal Google user. It provides us with quick and simple access to our email, contacts, calendar, documents, chat and many more. But now very soon, it may add as a home to a Web-based telephony client. WOW! That's amazing. Isn't it?
As per the reports of CNET, Google has begun testing a Gmail-integrated VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) client that would allow users to make phone calls directly from the browser.
For the users who are analyzing the test of this new product a symbol is added directly to the Google Talk popup that appears in the lower right corner of the Gmail screen, offering a keypad, a call history, and a credit balance.
According to the screenshots from CNET, Google will offer free calls within the U.S. and Canada, with cheap international calling, in 2010.
However, the characteristics of this system is distinct from the voice and video chat that is already available from Gmail using the chat feature, in that it isn't solely between chat users. Instead, the new feature looks to allow users to call any type of phone directly from their Web browser.
Well... this really would be a great new addition by Google which would please its users a lot!!
