Oxford English Dictionary gives entry to new words

Learning spellings of the words and knowing the meaning of the same happens to be the most tedious job for all especially for the students. Remember the dictations we were forced to encounter in our school days.

Gosh! Vocabulary..Diction was always a nightmare for me. and nothing much have changed. Ok…let me tell you the words which will make your life worst…Ooooopssss sorry the best…just a tongue slip.

The first word in the list is Vuvuzela ….this is the same horn instrument which was the sound of FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa. And this word has been entered in the latest edition of Oxford English Dictionary published on Thursday.

Vuvuzela is one of more than 2,000 new words and phrases included in the dictionary for the first time. The other ones happen to be tweetup, (a meeting arranged through Twitter); cheeseball (lacking taste or style); and a turducken(a roast dish consisting of a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey).

Not only this even internet and financial crisis has also provided with certain words which are influencing the current language. These words include: Paywall (which restricts website access only to subscribers), microblogging (posting short entries on a blog), netbookviral anddefriend have all arrived in our language because of the internet.

What??? You did not like it. Don’t worry soon you will become habitual of these words. And yeah if now your computer shows you the annoying red line every time you type these words then I’m sure you know what you have to do. Just use the right click of your mouse use the Oxford way and ‘Add to Dictionary’.
