As part of the renewed academic rejuvenation exercise,
the Aligarh Muslim University is implementing the practical steps for NAAC
accreditation. Prof. Jawaid Akhtar, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and
Research and Prof. Ekram Husain, Principal, Zakir Husain College of
Engineering and Technology today made a presentation regarding the
procedural requirement and the focus areas that need to be aimed at while
making preparation of Self Study Report of the University for the purpose of
obtaining accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation
Council (NAAC). The meeting attended by Deans of the faculties, Principals
of colleges and University functionaries was held in the Selection Committee
room of the Administrative Block.
In his presidential remarks, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis
urged the Deans of the Faculties to form a core committee with the chairmen
of the concerned departments for obtaining necessary data required for NAAC
accreditation.
He said that the presentation is the first step towards NAAC accreditation.
He urged the Deans to take immediate steps and fill up the proforma on the
priority basis so that the University may apply for the accreditation. It
was also resolved that periodic meeting be held to review the progress.
